Here at China Spring United Methodist Church Student Ministries, we have one simple mission: Making disciples of Jesus Christ who will love God, love others and serve the world.
It’s a simple goal with monumental impact.
Our hope is that students will form a strong and lasting connection with God and one another through weekly worship gatherings, small groups, retreats and mission trips. When those bonds are formed and strengthened, God’s love is revealed and God's name is glorified.
Join us as we journey together down the road to true discipleship.
We gather on Wednesday Nights in the Youth Activities Center (Y.A.C.) next door to the main church building from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. High School and Junior High students meet together for a time to hang out, games, worship, and small groups. Our worship is passionate and geared at our students, with music from our student worship band. Our small groups are split between High School and Junior High students and go deeper into the message and theme of worship. Adult volunteers lead our small groups and encourage students to ask questions and think deeply as we are intentional about our faith development.
You can keep up with our Wednesday Night worship and small group series through our Student Ministries Facebook group.
Every Sunday morning from 9:45 AM to 10:40 AM we meet in the Youth Activities Center (Y.A.C.) for bible study. Both High School and Junior High students are encouraged and invited to join us as we explore the bible together. We engage in the Bible using storytelling, creative reflection, and dialogue as we discover meaning and identity in the biblical narrative. Bring your bible.
We invite all students 6th grade and older to join us in Confirmation classes beginning each January. At the end of this 10 session experience, they will have the opportunity to become full members of China Spring United Methodist Church. At confirmation, students are given the opportunity to grow in their faith through small groups and different faith experiences. These things work together to help them make a commitment and take ownership of their own faith journey. Our staff and volunteers are honored to connect with students about their faith while playing games, learning basics of faith, and developing lasting relationships. For questions or more information, please contact our Director of Student Ministries, Matt Rodgers.
SUMMER MISSION TRIPS
Each summer we take mission trips with our High School students and with our Junior High students. The mission trips are a week long experience where the students and adults get hands-on work experience while serving people in need. We go with the Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission each year.
We are so excited about our Summer Mission Trips that we have scheduled for June and July. This year our Senior High will be going to Lubbock, Texas, June 17-23 and our Junior High will be going to Southeast Texas, July 15-20. These are going to be two incredible trips and our registration for both is now open! Register now for the best price! Each year we consider how we can answer Christ’s call to become His hands and feet to a world in need. We have partnered with the Central Texas Conference Youth in Mission (CTCYM) to team up with churches from around Central Texas to love God and love others!
Our Senior High is open to students currently in 8th grade through our graduating Seniors. Our Junior High trip is open to students currently in the 6th and 7th grades.
On these mission trips, the students will be teamed up with 5 other students and two adults to work together to serve our clients. We will build wheelchair ramps, paint houses, work with sheetrock and drywall, build chicken coops, and in some cases, repair entire homes. The students and adults will stay at a local United Methodist Church, this is what we call our “Living Center”. Here we will have meals, play games, and worship together. We will also be sleeping on the floors of these same churches (separate sleeping areas for boys and girls) and showering at the local high school.
Here is a letter submitted from a client that our senior high missionaries assisted while on their trip. We have some great kids here at this church and some wonderful adults that led our kids!
Congrats to all those involved!

Our student ministry schedules events throughout the year.
Each Winter our students travel to Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center for their Mid-Winter retreat. They are joined by other churches in the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church to worship together, develop their faith through small groups and seminars, fish, play GAGA ball, play other games, and meet new people. We look forward to our chance to go to Mid-Winter each year.
Our Mid-Winter Retreat is scheduled for February 1-3, 2019. Save the Date!
